Notes

In September, 1940, the liner taking children from bombed cities of England was torpedoed on the open sea. Only a few children escaped death in life-boats. What happened in one of these boats during its seven days' drifting forms the contents of the following scenes. Of the thirteen occupants, eleven were eventually rescued: [for] the other two the plane came too late.
