Program Note
The action of the play takes place in the typical American city of Buffalo, New York, and is a satiric view of its "responsible" landed gentry. The vignettes overlap, go forward and backward in time, and are not consecutive. The playwright comments on the mores of Buffalo's upper society over a time period that ranges from the Depression of the 30's to the contemporary era and into a police state of the future which he envisions.
