Program note by Amelia Carlan, a member of the ensemble:

While watching a musical the audience wants to find someone to sympathize with, to root for, that usually being the hero. While watching the show you may feel the urge to root for these characters. But remember all of the people made their decisions out of spite or madness. Please watch this show knowing that you may find yourself sympathizing with a madman. We have gotten so used to waking up to gun violence on the news or in the papers. This show is about gun violence and what happens when madmen are given guns. At Buck's Rock, our directors focus on the process, rather than he product. While this play was in process we had many discussions about guns. We worked hard to treat our toy guns like the real thing. This show is not a glorification of guns. It is a cautionary tale. We should carry the message with us when we leave the theatre and reenter the real world.
